EXCLUSIVE // Moldovan parliament speaker reveals names of personalities leading electoral list of Action and Solidarity Party

Parliament Speaker, the president of the Action and Solidarity Party (PAS) Igor Grosu has made public the names of the personalities who will lead the PAS electoral list. Grosu said that some of these individuals were already known, having been announced at public events. The list will be spearheaded by the PAS president, followed by the current Prime Minister Dorin Recean. It will then be completed with personalities from the fields of science, culture and politics.

“Some of the personalities we have invited to join us have already been presented to the public. We are talking about Mr. Viorel Bostan, rector of the Technical University, Mr. Emil Ceban, rector of the University of Medicine and Pharmacy, maestro Nicolae Botgros, maestro Constantin Cheianu, as well as other personalities who have agreed to join us. Nicu Popescu, former Minister of Foreign Affairs, Marcel Spatari, former Minister of Labor and Social Protection, are also part of this team, alongside other notable figures,” Igor Grosu said in an exclusive interview with MOLDPRES.

At the same time, Grosu specified that the personalities who had joined the PAS team had no obligation to become party members:

“It is their decision. We appreciate their contribution and willingness to be part of our big team,” added the PAS leader.

As for the cooperation with extra-parliamentary pro-European parties, Igor Grosu emphasized that PAS was open to dialogue, even though some formations are still analyzing their options and others ruled to participate independently in the elections.

“It was a difficult decision within the party, but colleagues understood and accepted, because the stakes are much higher: the choice of Moldova's trajectory — continuing the path to the European Union or returning to the past,” Grosu noted.

More information about the parliament's activity during the four-year mandate, the achievements and challenges of the 11th legislature can be found in the interview with Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu, given exclusively to with the MOLDPRES Agency, which will be published on July 18.
