Four persons kidnapped by so-called law-enforcement forces from left bank of Dniester
Chisinau, 8 October /MOLDPRES/ - Four persons have been kidnapped by the so-called law-enforcement forces from the left bank of Dniester. The head of the parliament’s commission for national security, defence and public order, Alexandru Jizdan, made statements to this effect at a news briefing today.
According to Jizdan, two out of four people are policemen. ‘’Today at 12:00, hearings were organized, to which all institutions in charge of the management of the case of the kidnapping of the police officer from the Floresti Police Inspectorate were invited. Decision-makers from the Intelligence and Security Service (SIS), Interior Ministry (MAI), Reintegration Bureau, Prosecutor General’s Office (PG) and Foreign Affairs Ministry were invited. The participants in the hearings confirmed that two persons were kidnapped, two citizens of Moldova in the Camenca town, left bank of Dniester and additionally, I want to inform you that it was reported that another two citizens were kidnapped,’’ Jizdan said.
The lawmaker noted that the kidnappings had been organized most likely by the so-called kgb (state security committee) from the left bank of Dniester and the people are suspected of espionage. ‘’We are deeply concerned about this serious incident. We consider that all the red lines have been exceeded. Within the commission for national security, we will further monitor the situation and will demand information from all entities, in order to make sure that Moldova’s citizens will be released,’’ Jizdan added.
The representatives of the Reintegration Bureau informed that they had already notified the Council of Europe in Moldova and the OSCE Mission in Moldova.
Igor Dodon also said that he had personally asked Tiraspol leader Vadim Krasnoselsky to release the kidnapped policemen. ‘’The situation in terms of the two Moldovan citizens kidnapped on the last days is extremely serious. The main concern was the as quick as possible release of our citizens and the steps undertaken have yielded the results desired. Personally, I had a discussion with Tiraspol leader Vadim Krasnoselsky, in which I asked him to promptly intervene in the release of our citizens and take the measures needed for making more responsible those who committed this serious lawless act,’’ Dodon said.
