Chisinau, 2 November /MOLDPRES/ - The electoral agenda of the 2 November day included a news briefing held by the president of the Action and Solidarity Party (PAS), Igor Grosu, on the summing up of the campaign for the general local elections due on 5 November.

„During one month, we have gone to our villages and cities, in order to back our mayors and councilors and what’s most important – we talked and listened to citizens. Everywhere, the people told us that they need good conditions for living, access to water and sewerage, efficient street illumination, renovated schools and kindergartens, modern waste collection services, safety on streets. At the elections due on 5 November, PAS has 702 candidates for mayors, 1,158 candidates for the position of district councilor and 9,312 candidates for local councils. During all this time, I have seen determined PAS candidates, confident and ready to give a helping hand for developing their settlements,’’ Igor Grosu said.

Also today, the candidate of the Dignity and Truth Platform Party (DA) for the office of Chisinau general mayor, Victor Chironda, urged his supporters to vote for the team of DA councilors in a public declaration.

„On 5 November, vote for the true European candidates. Force, Chisinau! Force, Moldova! Peace, Europe!,’’ Victor Chironda said.

The president of the National Alternative Movement Party (MAN), Ion Ceban, today unveiled the investment programme for the Moldovan capital’s development.

„Chisinau is a city which provided opportunities of investments, as it is strategically placed and distinguishes itself through the development of the infrastructure and connectivity. We will further develop the investment profiles and will add another new profiles for Chisinau, including the ones dealing with measures of energy efficiency and enhancement of the energy security,’’ Ion Ceban said.

The candidate of the European Social Democratic Party (PSDE) for the office of Chisinau general mayor, Vadim Brinzaniuc, today gave a news conference on the reform of the municipal administration.

„Chisinau needs a comprehensive reform of the municipal administration. The capital presently does not have a well-defined vision and the public affairs are managed most often badly and inefficiently. The Capital’s city hall acts chaotically and this must be changed. Therefore, I and the PSDE team elaborated a plan on the reformation and optimization of the work of the city hall’s subdivisions and departments. The reform provides for the creation of new municipal departments and the reorganization of the current ones,’’ Vadim Brinzaniuc said.

At a today’s news conference, sports master, candidate of the Party of Development and Consolidation of Moldova (PDCM) for the office of councilor in the Chisinau Municipal Council Vladislav Belinschi said that ‘’the sportspeople should not be silent. We want support and we get involved, as we care!’’ ‘’Moldova loses its youth and we, the Party of Development and Consolidation of Moldova, want to put an end to this phenomenon, having performance sportspeople in our team, who are able to rehabilitate the field,’’ Vladislav Belinschi noted.

The Central Electoral Commission today warned the broadcasters and distributors of advertising that they were obliged, till the end of the day of 3 November 2023, to remove/withdraw all electoral postings and other electoral advertising materials, except for the materials elaborated by the electoral bodies.

Also, CEC warns that the observers accredited for the general local elections due on 5 November 2023 will be able to signal, in online regime, the infringements committed in the polling station on the day of the ballot. The notifications submitted through the webpage www.observator.cec.md will be received and considered by representatives of electoral bodies, with solutions provided to them as quickly as possible.
