Moldova to have honorary consulate in Hungary
Chisinau, 1 July /MOLDPRES/- Moldova will have an honorary consulate in Nyírbátor, Hungary. The inauguration ceremony of the building was attended by members of the governments of both states, representatives of local and regional public administration, representatives of the diplomatic and consular corps, members of the diaspora, as well as exponents of the business and cultural environment in the region.
The event was opened by Secretary of State of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade of Hungary Tamás Vargha. The official welcomed the establishment of the consulate, noting that it will help strengthen Moldovan-Hungarian bilateral relations in the economic, cultural, and in the fight against the consequences of the coronavirus pandemic.
At the same time, the Hungarian official referred to the good bilateral cooperation in the direction of European integration and humanitarian assistance provided by the Hungarian state to the Republic of Moldova, including a batch of mechanical ventilation devices, to be donated soon.
Secretary of State Dumitru Socolan, Ambassador of the Republic of Moldova to Hungary Oleg Țulea and Honorary Consul of the Republic of Moldova in Nyírbátor János Veres voiced confidence that the establishment of the new consulate will help boost collaboration between business circles of the two countries and will lead to the consolidation of the mutually advantageous partnership on consolidation of the interpersonal relations, especially in tourism, culture and education.
The Honorary Consulate of the Republic of Moldova in Nyírbátor is the first honorary consular opened in Hungary, having consular jurisdiction over the counties of Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplén, Hajdú-Bihar, Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg.
