Moldova to open Consulate General in California, USA
Chisinau, Dec. 20 /MOLDPRES/- The Republic of Moldova will open second Consulate General on the territory of the United States in Sacramento, California. It will mainly serve Moldovan citizens living in the western part of the United States.
Among the services that will be offered are the issuance of documents, authentication of documents, assistance in emergency situations and other essential consular services. The consulate will also help strengthen cultural and economic relations between the Moldovan communities in the US and Moldova.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, following a recent visit to the United States by Deputy Prime Minister Mihai Popșoi and discussions with State Department officials, the US authorities have communicated their agreement to open a Consulate General of the Republic of Moldova in Sacramento, California.
"This initiative reflects Moldova's commitment to support the diaspora and facilitate access to consular services," the MAE said.
The new mission in Sacramento will complement the work of the consulate that will be opened in Chicago and will expand the capacity to meet the needs of Moldovan citizens from different regions of the United States.
