Moldovan electoral body approves report on work of Centre for Continuous Electoral Training
Chisinau, 9 February /MOLDPRES/ - The participants in a today’s meeting of the Central Electoral Commission (CEC) approved a report on the work for 2020 and presented and voted the plan on activity of the Centre for Continuous Electoral Training (CICDE) for this year.
CICDE was set up under the CEC on 9 December 2011, for the continuous training, qualifying and professional improvement of the electoral civil servants from Moldova, as well as of the subjects involved in the electoral process from Moldova and other interested people.
Also today, CEC approved the notes on two draft laws on the amendment and completion of the Electoral Code (No 53 from 28 December 2020, submitted by the People’s Assembly of Gagauzia and No 14 from 27 January 2021, submitted by a group of lawmakers). The participants in the same meeting gave mandates of local councilor in 22 settlements.
At the same meeting, CEC took note of the vacancy of an MP mandate belonging to the Political Party, Party of Socialists from Moldova. Under the legal provisions, CEC will suggest that the Constitutional Court validates the mandate of lawmaker of the alternate candidate Grigorii Uzun, on the list of the same political party.
