Parliament Secretariat to exchange experience with European institutions

Chisinau, Oct. 21 /MOLDPRES/- Parliament's Secretariat proposes to carry out in the next period an exchange of experience and best practices in providing the necessary support to the parliamentary activity with the European institutions. Parliament Secretary General Tamara Gheorghița approached the issue with her counterparts from the member countries of the Council of Europe.

Tamara Gheorghița had yesterday in Strasbourg a lot of discussions with representatives of the parliaments of several countries. Having a discussion with Secretary General of the Lithuanian Seimas Modestas Gelbuda, she considered new collaboration perspectives. The issue on strengthening relations at the secretariat level was approached in the discussions with Secretary General of the Romanian Chamber of Deputies Silvia Claudia Mihalcea, and the discussions with Secretary General of Hungary György Such focused on the exchange of experience at the level of civil servants within a potential study visits to the Hungarian Parliament.

Among the issues on the agenda of the meeting of the Secretaries General of parliament was the one related to the consequences of the aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine for legislative institutions and inter-parliamentary cooperation. Another topic focused on the mechanisms and tools for greening the functioning of parliaments and parliamentary procedures, including under the energy crisis.

Attending the Strasbourg meeting of the Secretaries General of parliament were secretaries general from the member states of the Council of Europe, as well as representatives of international legislative organizations.
