Another 100,000 doses of influenza vaccine arrived in Moldova
Chisinau, 7 December /MOLDPRES/- Another 100,000 doses of flu vaccine arrived in Moldova, including 85,000 doses of vaccine worth 550,000 dollars were donated by the CVE-Task Force for Global Health USA, through UNICEF.
According to the Ministry of Health, Labor and Social Protection, an additional 15 thousand doses of influenza vaccine were purchased this year from the prophylaxis fund of the National Health Insurance Company worth 83 thousand dollars.
The chronically ill, pregnant women, children in orphanages, the elderly in nursing homes, medical workers, employees of law enforcement agencies, social assistance institutions and other categories of people on the recommendation of family doctors will primarily benefit from vaccines.
In all, 200,000 doses of seasonal flu vaccine have been distributed since the beginning of the cold period.
