Attempt to cancel General Assembly of Prosecutors completed by CSP

Chisinau, 4 Aug. /MOLDPRES/- Anti-corruption prosecutor and candidate for the position of member of the Superior Council of Prosecutors (CSP) Vitalie Codreanu, who failed the Pre-Vetting Commission's assessment, today requested the CSP members to postpone the General Assembly of Prosecutors, planned for August 23. The request was rejected by the CSP.

Codreanu said that after the Supreme Court of Justice annulled, on August 1, all the decisions of the Pre-Vetting Commission, and all the candidates for positions in the CSP and CSM were sent for re-evaluation, the meeting of the prosecutors cannot take place and must be postponed.

The request was rejected by the majority of the CSP members' votes.
