Chief architect of Criuleni district council to stay 30 days under preventive arrest
Chisinau, 30 July /MOLDPRES/ - The chief architect of the Criuleni district council and the head of the municipal enterprise Bureau of Designs, prospecting and Services CriPSer will stay under preventive arrest for 30 days.
According to the National Anticorruption Centre (CNA), an inspector of the Finance Ministry’s financial inspection is also prosecuted for bribery.
He is suspected for passive corruption, showed through claiming bribe worth 1,250 euros, so as not to indicate in the revision act the irregularities detected at the inspection of the municipal enterprise Bureau of Designs, Prospecting and Services CriPSer of the Criuleni district council.
To document the case form Criuleni, CNA asked the Financial Inspection to make a control at the concerned enterprise. Yet, during investigations, decision-makers fixed the moment when the financial inspector claimed a bribe worth 1,250 euros, in order not to indicate in the control act the irregularities found at the enterprise.
Om 28 July, the chief architect of the Criuleni district and the manager of a designs company were detained by CNA officers, being prosecuted on more corruption files. The two persons are suspected of passive, active corruption, influence peddling and abuse of power. They would have caused a damage of hundreds of thousands of lei to the local budget. If found guilty, they run the risk to be imprisoned, to get a criminal fine and be deprived of the right to hold public offices.
