
Chisinau ready for possible new wave of COVID-19
Chisinau, 27 Dec. / MOLDPRES /- General Directorate of Social Assistance and Health of the Chisinau Municipal Council is ready to deal with a possible new wave of COVID-19.
The interim head of the above-mentioned department, Boris Gâlcă, said at today's online meeting "the medical spaces in the municipality are prepared and secured to face a possible new wave of COVID-19".
According to Gâlcă, the relaxation of the pandemic situation allows a joint assessment of the Chisinau municipality and the Ministry of Health of the needs for a possible new pandemic wave. "Reducing the number of coronavirus infections gives us the opportunity to consolidate in the face of a possible new wave of coronavirus. We proposed to the Ministry of Health a joint assessment of the needs ", he said.
Chisinau remains in the yellow health alert code, 265 patients are hospitalized in the municipal hospital institutions, of which 30 are in a very serious condition.
Since the beginning of the pandemic, more than 137,000 people from Chisinau have been infected with COVID-19, of which 2,773 have died.
