DOC Amendments to Code on science and innovation published in Official Journal
Chisinau, 14 Sep. /MOLDPRES/- The promulgation decree and the law to amend the Code on science and innovation of the Republic of Moldova were published in the Official Journal and entered into force.
The document sees setting up Advisory Council for Science and Technology, which will provide advice to the central public administration authority, responsible for developing policies in the research and innovation, for the development and financing of the research and innovation system. The Council will include representatives of the state's central specialized bodies, as well as nationally and internationally recognized scientific personalities.
Another provision of the document refers to institutional funding in the research and innovation. Public law organizations in the research and innovation, including public higher education institutions will be able to benefit from institutional funding for the maintenance and development of public infrastructure in the research and innovation and for staff costs. Funding is to be linked to human resources, research infrastructure and institutional performance.
The law enters into force upon publication in the Official Journal of the Republic of Moldova. The government, within 6 months from the date of publication of this law, will bring its normative acts in accordance with its provisions.
