Drones entering Moldova’s airspace left craters, debris across extensive areas

Experts from the Police Explosive Ordnance Department today identified the impact and explosion sites of more unmanned aerial vehicles, following investigations carried out in the districts affected by the incidents of October 3.

According to the Moldovan Police, the explosions created craters, while fragments of the aircraft were scattered across extensive areas.

In all cases investigated, propulsion components and parts similar to those identified in the S8000 Banderol hybrid model were found, as well as elements originating from the warhead.

The Police said that no other explosive substances or devices had been found during the investigations.

Law enforcement officers continue their interventions and the documentation of the incidents, while specialized teams are conducting checks to ensure the safety of citizens.

The Police thanked the personnel involved in the interventions across all the affected districts, as well as the specialists from the Explosive Ordnance Department, who are carrying out investigations under hazardous conditions.
