
FAO Moldova organizes workshop for journalists
Chisinau, 28 December /MOLDPRES/ - The United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) in Chisinau today held an online workshop for journalists on the subject of Adaptation to climate changes and agriculture from Moldova.
The workshop was organized, in order to familiarize journalists who write on subjects concerning the environment and agriculture, with the goals, activities and results of the project, Adaptation to climate changes and agriculture from Moldova.
At the event, the participants were provided comprehensive information on the project’s vision in the incorporation of the adaptation in the sectoral planning, the principal climate impacts on the agriculture and were presented solutions of adaptation identified by project’s experts. Also, the participants in the event referred to capacities of adaptation to the climate changes of Moldova’s farming sector, so that the media can contribute to the dissemination of information on the results of the adaptation to the climate changes by the target groups and the wide public from Moldova.
The FAO deputy representative in Moldova, Tudor Robu, said that, ‘’for FAO, communication is a quite important element within the implementation of the organization’s objectives, both globally and nationally. In particular, we are set to provide relevant information, so that the media is informed, as well as trained in aspects regarding the agriculture and the environment. I think that the today’s event was a categorical step in the achievement of this goal,’’ the official noted.
The FAO Ag-SAP project is financed by the Green Climate Fund and is carried out in partnership with the Agriculture and Food Industry and Environment Ministries.
