Man detained at airport with 100 thousand undeclared euros

Chisinau, 8 September /MOLDPRES/-A man was detained today at Chisinau International Airport after he tried to leave the country with 100 thousand euros and a thousand pounds, money he did not declare.

According to the Border Police, the 43-year-old man was to arrive in Istanbul, Turkey, but was detained for further checks after PF employees noticed several banknotes in his hand luggage during the security check.

At the opening of the luggage, undeclared foreign banknotes in the amount of 100,000 euros and 1,000 pounds were identified. The money was seized by the customs authority from Chisinau International Airport for subsequent procedures.
