Media Group for Security Stories set up for Summit of European Political Community due in Moldova on 1 June
Chisinau, 28 April /MOLDPRES/ - The authorities will set up a Media Group for Security Stories (GMSS), in order to cover the Summit of the European Political Community (EPC) 2023, due in the settlement of Bulboaca, eastern Anenii Noi district, on 1 June. The group will work in regime of news agency, according to the principle ‘’single voice’’ and will inform the wide public about the activities and measures undertaken by the national authorities in the context of the organization of the EPC Summit in Moldova.
The structure will be in touch with mass media representatives and will provide relevant contents through quick accessibility ways (personal email, social networks, websites). Also, GMSS-EPC will provide support to make press materials related to the organization and holding of the event. The pieces of news and communiqués will be issued in the Romanian and English languages. Also, GMSS-EPC will keep in touch with the central authorities, national institutions, local public authorities and civil society, in order to supply topical information on the period before and during the Summit of EPC 2023.
To inform the citizens and for a good carrying out of the daily activity, GMSS-EPC will make, in due time, specifications and recommendations coming on behalf of competent institutions concerning the specific security and public order contexts, created by this far-reaching international event. People will be informed about the regime of movement on the public roads from the Moldovan capital and the adjacent areas, access to Chisinau, the conditions of traffic, movement of the urban transport in the capital and of the inter-urban one, the special rules for parkings, situation at the state border crossing points, aid mobility, events organized in the public space, etc.
Journalists who are set to publicize the activities related to the Summit of the European Political Community 2023 must register and fill in an online application on accreditation on the platform made available by the Foreign Affairs and European Integration Ministry (MAEIE): http://www.epcsummit2023.md/. The applications can be submitted on the period 27 April – 18 May 2023.
The Summit’s organization in Moldova was a decision by the meeting of the European Political Community, held in Prague in October 2022. About 50 heads of state and government from Europe and European Union officials are expected at the event due on 1 June. The participants in the Summit will discuss the joint efforts for peace, defending the democracy, strengthening the energy interconnection and the global security.
