The draft establishes the way of regulation of censuses, in form of establishing general norms, which will be valid for all future official countings.
The draft envisages that the next censuses should be carried out at regular time intervals of at least once in 10 years. Their goals will be to provide information of public interest about the population and dwellings – necessary for the working out, monitoring and assessing of policies. The organization and holding of censuses was regulated through the adoption of normative acts specific for each census.
According to BNS, the next census is planned to be conducted in Moldova in 2024. Its overall budget is estimated at 329.2 million lei, of which about 36.8 million lei - for the agricultural module.
