Physicians, para-physicians who helped colleagues in Romania in fighting COVID-19 return to Moldova
Chisinau, 15 November /MOLDPRES/ - Physicians and para-physicians of the Emergency Service for Resuscitation and Extrication (SMURD) from Moldova, who have helped colleagues from Romania in fighting the COVID-19 pandemic, returned from the mission today.
According to data by the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations (IGSU), officials from the Romanian health system, as well as of the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations from Romania thanked the specialists from Moldova for self-denial, dedication and support in the difficult task of fighting with the pandemic.
During the mission, physicians and para-physicians from Moldova, detached to Romania, worked at the modular hospital Saint Paraskeva from the Letcani village, Iasi county. They worked in shifts of 12 hours and provided support in the assistance and carrying out of intra-hospital transportations of patients, as well as providing of assistance in medical procedures and examinations.
Sixty two physicians and para-physicians went on mission to Romania in all. The cross-border mission started on 18 October and lasted till 15 November 2021.
