Vaccination center against COVID-19 opened in Chisinau
Chisinau, 1 April /MOLDPRES/- First anti-COVID-19 vaccination center, developed outside medical institutions was opened in the capital today. It is located on the territory of the Academy of Economic Studies and has been equipped with the support of local and central authorities.
The opening ceremony of the center, which has a vaccination capacity of over 200 people a day, was attended by Chisinau mayor Ion Ceban, representatives of the Ministry of Health, Labor and Social Protection and WHO.
"We decided to create a center outside the medical institutions at the municipal level, where vaccination centers are already open. This will facilitate access for people, including those with disabilities, to the vaccination process. Similar centers will be opened when needed, "Ceban said.
MSMPS representatives said that the center meets all the rigors and will take people for vaccination according to the protocols indicated in the immunization plan.
The center is located on two floors and is equipped with six vaccination offices where people with disabilities have access. It also has a waiting room where vaccinated people must stay for at least 15 minutes and an intensive care unit available in case of side effects.
Yesterday, MSMPS announced that our country has moved to the second stage of vaccination. Thus, adults over the age of 60, people with comorbidities and people with comorbidities for whom COVID-19 infection has an increased risk of severe forms and death at the age of 18-60 should be immunized. At the same time, the vaccination of medical workers in medical institutions, including staff / beneficiaries of asylums and temporary or long-term placement centers, continues.
By late March, 38,643 people had been vaccinated against COVID in Moldova.
