VIDEO // Explosion in Hîrbovăț. Drone that flew over airspace of Moldova crashed outside village
A drone flew over the airspace of the Republic of Moldova and crashed this morning in the outskirts of Hîrbovăț village, Anenii Noi District, where it exploded. According to the Ministry of Defense, the incident occurred amid the Russian Federation’s massive attacks on Ukraine.
According to the National Integrated Airspace Monitoring System, the drone was detected at around 5:43 a.m. on September 30.
The Air Operations Service continues to monitor the airspace in coordination with the competent authorities and partners. Teams from the Police and the National Army are traveling to the site to investigate the incident.
The authorities urge citizens who discover unidentified objects or fragments thereof not to touch or move them, but to immediately call the emergency service at 112.
The authorities announced that they would provide further details.
