Teachers from several districts of the country gathered today in the Great National Assembly Square to protest, demanding that the authorities honor their commitments regarding salary increases starting September 1. Prime Minister Vasile Tofan, Minister of Education and Research Dan Perciun, and Minister of Finance Victoria Belous came to speak to the protesters. Vasile Tofan emphasized that investments in education are a priority for the Government and stressed that in order for these investments to be made, it is necessary to relaunch the economy. The Prime Minister also mentioned that the authorities will present the solutions identified for increasing teachers’ salaries. The protest ended with the adoption of a resolution, which was submitted to the authorities.
