Premier attends anniversary concert of famous Moldovan composer

Chisinau, 8 May /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister Pavel Filip on 7 May attended a concert dedicated to the 80th birthday anniversary. The most famous songs of composer’s works were interpreted at the event, organized under the patronage of Moldova’s cabinet, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.
Also, an anniversary show of Eugen Doga was organized with the support of the Moldovan authorities in Bucharest in last April. In the context, Eugen Doga thanked the government for its openness to back the events dedicated to his jubilee. “I personally thank Mr. Pavel Filip, not only for coming to this concert and honouring me with his presence, but also for the fact that the government led by him ruled to spend this year for the name of Doga,” the composer said.
On 25 January, the cabinet of ministers approved a decision on supporting the carrying out of more cultural activities to pay homage to the master and promote his works. Thus, during 2017, a ballet show, Luceafarul (Evening Star) is to be staged, chamber shows and creation meetings are to be organized with the composer’s participation and more publications are to be edited. The cabinet earmarked 1.5 million lei from the reserve fund to this end.
Eugen Doga was born in the Mocra village, Ribnita district, on 1 March 1937. His musical works are appreciated both in Moldova and abroad. Master Eugen Doga was nominated Laureate of the State Award; he is Knight of the Order of the Republic and People’s Artist.
