Moldovan-Romanian inter-ministerial political consultations held in Bucharest

Chisinau, 10 October /MOLDPRES/ – A new round of Moldovan – Romanian inter – ministerial political consultations at the level of foreign deputy ministers has taken place in Bucharest today. Deputy Foreign and European Integration Minister, Lilian Darii, headed the Moldovan delegation and the Romanian one was led by the State Secretary for Strategic Affairs of the Romanian Foreign Ministry, Dan Neculaescu, the MAEIE’s public diplomacy, strategic communication and media interaction service has reported.
The two officials reviewed the recent developments in bilateral dialogue, including sectoral cooperation and interaction in international organizations, during the consultations. Also, it was held an exchange of views on the security developments in the region and the Transnistrian conflict settlement process as well as the European agenda of Moldova.
Deputy Minister Darii pointed out constant support of Romania granted to Moldova in the spirit of strategic partnership for European integration, invoking in this respect the common historical, linguistic and cultural affinities. In this context, the mutual interest was confirmed in continuing to organize joint meetings of the two governments and keeping the meetings of the Joint Commission for European Integration on the agenda. It was also highlighted the need to continue to implement joint sectoral projects in the fields of energy, transport, roads, health, education, with a direct impact on the improvement of the lives of the citizens.
It was outlined the "5+2" negotiation format has been the mechanism to generate a sustainable political solution to the Transnistrian conflict, respecting the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Moldova, referred issues on the regional situation, the security environment related to Moldova and the Transnistrian dossier.
