Moldovan Democrats to support through government all projects of city hall in interest of citizens

14:40 | 07.11.2017 Category: Political

Chisinau, 7 November /MOLDPRES/- The Democratic Party of Moldova (PDM) is ready to back through the government all the projects of the city hall, which will be in the interest of the citizens, even if it currently has no political aspirations as regards this institution. PDM leader Vlad Plahotniuc made the statement today.

Plahotniuc referred to the situation in the Chisinau city hall and appointment of deputy mayors.

“We all saw how the Socialists and Liberals came to the public with the same ideas, Plahotniuc through a raider attack, by nominating certain deputy mayors, took over the leadership of the city hall. This song sounds familiar, others have said it so far, but I want to ask Dodon and Ghimpu, you, together as parties that hold the majority in the Chisinau municipal council, why you do not put an acting mayor, if so far you express your dissatisfaction with those who have been nominated as deputy mayors? Why do you put PDM that has only one councilor in CMC to nominate mayors and deputy mayors? Once again to be clear, today the Socialists and Liberals can do everything they want in the Chisinau city hall. They have the majority, but they say on TV that PDM with just one vote in CMC took the city hall”, he said.

The leader noted that in this situation a question arises, “whether the Socialists and Liberals are powerless and Democrats with just one vote came stronger than both parties, whether they are lying as always. Do you know why PL and PSRM scared the appointment of deputy mayors, first of all, they fear that things in the city hall will change for the better, and secondly, they fear of losing control over the institution that has brought them satisfaction and benefits over the years. The capital of the country is in a disaster, and unfortunately, they cannot say that things are stupid because Plahotniuc is guilty. At present, PDM has no political aspirations as regards the city hall, but is ready to back through the government all good projects that will be in the interest of citizens”, he said.

Former director of Gas Natural Fenosa company Silvia Radu and municipal councilor of the European People’s Party of Moldova Ruslan Codreanu were appointed yesterday as deputy mayors of Chisinau. The decision was made by former acting mayor Nistor Grozavu, after the issues on appointment of deputy mayors of the capital had previously been repeatedly excluded from the agenda of the CMC meeting.

Shortly, representatives of PL and PSRM expressed their dissatisfaction with this action and accused Plahotniuc of taking over the leadership of the institution.
