Chisinau, 15 November /MOLDPRES/ – The problems arising from privatisation acts upon commercial and investment tenders for privatisation of public property were covered by Prime Minister Pavel Filip at the beginning of the Executive’s meeting today, the government's communication and protocol department has reported.

The Prime Minister referred to land plots and buildings with thousands of square metres of land located in the most attractive areas for investors, which got into disastrous state and continuing to degrade. In particular, Pavel Filip specified that following privatisation, the promised investments were not made. "This investment contest meant that we were offering the opportunity for the contestant to buy at a lower price on the basis of an investment programme, that is, they have to make both financial investments and create jobs," he said.

The Prime Minister brought an example of privatisation on the basis of the investment competition of the National Hotel complex, which was, years ago, a beautiful objective in the city centre but, instead, it became a concern of the authorities, this one becoming a shelter for children left without parental care.

Also, there were noted the problems encountered in some industrial parks which did not reach their intended purpose. There were not created 800 jobs in Cimislia Industrial Park, but only two, similarly it was proposed to create 2260 jobs in Comrat Industrial Park, but only one was created.

In this context, the head of the Executive asked the Minister of Economy and Infrastructure to provide precise actions to monitor the fulfillment of contractual liabilities of privatisation process and industrial parks. "See all those who did not fulfill their bonds on the basis of the investment contest, did not make investments and did not create jobs, as stipulated by the programme, for us to take up cancel of agreement," said Pavel Filip.
