Premiers of Moldova, Belarus speak out for strengthening bilateral partnership

Chisinau, 11 December /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister Pavel Filip today had a meeting with Belarusian Prime Minister Andrei Kobyakov, during his working visit to Minsk, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.    

The two officials highlighted the positive dynamic of the Moldovan-Belarusian relations. In particular, the prime ministers referred to the boosting of the political and institutional dialogue on the last period, stressing that more often meetings had yielded results. Thus, in the first nine months of 2017, the trade exchanges between Moldova and Belarus grew by over ten per cent.   

At the same time, Pavel Filip said Moldova was speaking out for further fostering the bilateral partnership, including through organizing a new meeting of the inter-governmental commission for commercial and economic cooperation in Chisinau in the first half of 2018.   

Also, Pavel Filip said that Moldova was willing to increase the number of enterprises with mixed capital, noting that, to this end, the country was providing a string of advantages to foreign investors. Among them, there is also possibility to export production to European Union member states, due to the free trade area between Moldova and EU. In the context, Pavel Filip referred also to the importance that the two countries sign agreements on the liberalization of the air transport and road transport of goods.      

For his part, Andrei Kobyakov said that Belarus was open for boosting the economic and trade ties with Moldova. The Belarusian official noted that the successful cooperation in the field of assembling tractors and trolley busses, confirming interest in the joint assembling of busses as well. Among the priority sectors of cooperation between Moldova and Belarus, the two officials highlighted also the agro-industrial field, zoo-technical and pharmaceutical sectors.
