Chisinau, 22 December /MOLDPRES/- Prime Minister Pavel Filip will repeatedly propose to President of Moldova the new candidates in the government, and if he rejects them again, the government will appeal the Constitutional Court. Parliament Speaker Andrian Candu made the statement today.
According to Candu, if the head of state violates the Constitution and repeatedly rejects the candidates of ministers, then a request will be made to the Constitutional Court, which will come up with a solution to unlock the situation.
President Igor Dodon today announced he has rejected the candidates for ministerial positions submitted by the government and said “most candidates showed inconsistency, lack of professionalism in their previous offices and activities”.
On 20 October 2017, the Constitutional Court issued a decision finding the circumstances justifying the provisional appointment of the president in order to exercise the constitutional obligation to appoint a minister. The Constitutional Court ruled that if the head of state refuses to sign decrees, although is obliged to do so, they may be signed by an interim president.
