Government commission on European integration sets priorities for 2018

Chisinau, 8 February /MOLDPRES/- Prime Minister Pavel Filip chaired first meeting of the government commission on European integration on 7 February. The event was focused on the results achieved on the European integration in 2017 and the goals for the next period, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.

The premier pointed out that following the joint government-parliament meeting, the actions, due to be taken to meet the commitments made by the Association Agreement with the EU, were approached. In this context, Filip stressed the importance of boosting efforts in the implementation of the European agenda, noting that the conclusions of the EU Foreign Affairs Council on Moldova will be adopted in the first half of this year. At the same time, the EU-Moldova Association Council will be held.

“Depending on how we mobilize, how good will be the documents issued and forwarded to parliament in time, so we will succeed. Everything depends on us. We need to act, to work qualitatively, so to get the results we have proposed”, he said.

The participants in the meeting presented the developments in the implementation of the national action plan on implementation of the Association Agreement with the EU during 2017, the implementation rate of the planned actions being 66 per cent. These results are reflected in detail in the report due to be published by the Foreign and European Integration Ministry.

In this respect, the commission members considered the evolution of the review process of the EU-Moldova national action plan. Also, they discussed the importance of synchronizing the work of institutions in reporting the actions and boosting the interaction of Moldovan authorities with EU officials.
