Moldovan cabinet approves regulation on way of using meal vouchers

Chisinau, 12 March /MOLDPRES/ - The cabinet of ministers today approved a regulation on the way of use of the meal vouchers. The document clearly establishes the conditions of use of meal vouchers by employees, employers, licenced operators in printing the vouchers, commercial units operating with the meal vouchers, as well as the fiscal aspect in this respect, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.   

Thus, the regulation sees that the number of meal vouchers provided to the employee must be equivalent to the number of days effectively worked in the previous month. The nominal value of a meal voucher is at least 35 lei. The vouchers can be issued on paper and electronically and are not transmissible; the right to use them belongs exclusively to the employee. Also, the exchange of the meal vouchers for money is banned.     

The vouchers can be used only in order to buy food products, excluding alcoholic drinks and tobacco products and the commercial units operating with meal vouchers are obliged to post this availability at the entrance into the unit.  

The regulation on the way of operation with meal vouchers was worked out in the context of the enforcement of the law on meal vouchers; the law is aimed at motivating employees, increasing their incomes, as well as at adopting sounder food skills.
