Seven candidates registered in election for capital's leadership

Chisinau, 20 April /MOLDPRES/- Seven candidates have been registered in election for the leadership of the capital, and the Chisinau district electoral council is to decide on the registration of other six candidates.

Registrants are: Andrei Nastase (PPDA, PAS, PLDM), Alexandr Roșco (Party of Our House-Moldova), Reghina Apostolova (Shor Party), Vasile Costiuc (Home Democracy Party), Valeriu Munteanu (PL), Ion Ceban (PSRM) and Victor Străilă (Ecologist Green Party).

At the same time, among the people to whom the Chisinau district electoral council is to state are: Silvia Radu (independent candidate) and Constantin Codreanu (PUN).

The head of the Central Election Commission’s department for communication, public relations and media, Corneliu Pasat, said that yesterday was the last day when the applicants could submit documents for registration in the election. “The Chisinau district electoral council is to make a decision on the six persons for seven days from filling the document,” Pasat said.

At the same time, two candidates were registered in election for the leadership of Balti municipality. “It is about Alexandr Usatii (PSRM) and Arina Spataru (PPDA). At the same time, six other files are in process, including the file of PAS candidate, Our Party, Shor Party and PUN,” Pasat said.

Candidates can start the electoral campaign immediately after registration in the election.

New local elections will take place on 20 May. Former mayor of Chisinau Dorin Chirtoaca and former mayor of Balti Renato Usatii resigned in mid-February.
