Several localities of Moldova participate at cultural festival

Chisinau, 20 May /MOLDPRES/ – Over 15 villages on both banks of the Dniester river participate today at Festival "Podul cultural Rascov – Vadul – Rascov" (Cultural Bridge Rascov – Vadul – Rascov). The event takes place in Vadul – Rascov, Soldanesti district, the native town of late poet Dumitru Matcovschi.

The festival agenda includes evolution of folk ensembles, dancers, folk bands from the Dniester region with a programme of songs, dances and theatre plays. At the same time, there were organised excursions to tourist destinations of Vadul – Rascov: House – Museum "Dumitru Matcovschi", Jewish cemetery, Grottoes in cliffs, Chapel of XVth century etc.

For festival, there were prepared photo exhibitions representing tourist attractions of participating villages, exhibitions with pupils' drawings from Rascov and Vadul – Rascov, film screenings with memories of eldest inhabitants of these villages about their friendship with neighbours over the Dniester, traditions, history, crafts, as well as sports competitions and asphalt drawing contests, traditional dishes, a flash – mob of dance "Coasa", a fire and a friendship hike on bank of the Dniester.

On 27 May, it will take place second festival with same generic and activities, but in the village of Rascov on the left bank of the Dniester river.

The festival is organised within project "Treasures of the Danube", realised by Municipal Association "Casa de casa" from Vadul-Rascov commune, Soldanesti district, in partnership with initiative group of Rascov village. The collaboration is financially supported by EU under Programme "Support to confidence – building measures", implemented by United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).

According to organisers, the aim of festival is to strengthen cultural, tourist and friendship relations within 15 villages on both banks, situated at foot of the Dniester rocks, starting with districts Soldanesti and Camenca and up to Dubasari.
