Moldovan fine artist displays works at his 60th birthday anniversary

Chisinau, 24 May /MOLDPRES/ – A personal exhibition of paintings and graphics of artist Simion Zamsa, occasioned by 60th anniversary, was opened today at Exhibition Centre Constantin Brancusi in Chisinau.

The exhibition includes about 120 works, conducted by author over the years.

Interviewed by agency, art critic Tudor Stavila mentioned that, as such, creation of Simion Zamsa is everything an artist can do in painting, graphics, handmade paper, design and in his didactic activity. "He is one of few artists which embrace so many areas where main purpose is perfection," noted Tudor Stavila.

The head of Artists Union of Moldova (UAPM), Dumitru Bolboceanu, said that Simion Zamsa is one of best plastic artists, graphic artists and book illustrators. "Simion Zamsa has trained us with some exceptional exhibitions. The one varnished today is a model exhibition. He always experiences and can make from any sheet of paper a work of art ", said Dumitru Bolboceanu.

According to director of the National Art Museum of Moldova, Tudor Zbarnea, this exhibition represents Simion Zamsa completely. "He is the artist which can do it all. He is good in engraving, he is one of best graphic artists and is an excellent educator teaching young artists to think and create. In all he does, three is much culture," said Tudor Zbarnea.

Attending the event, director of Publishing House Litera, Anatol Vidrascu, mentioned that together with Simion Zamsa he made the most beautiful books, being successful in Moldova and Romania.

Simion Zamsa was born on 23 June 1958 in Onitcani commune, Criuleni district. He studied at High School of Fine Arts Igor Vieru in Chisinau (1969 – 1976) and Academy of Fine Arts Ivan Repin in Sankt – Petersburg (1979 – 1984). In 1990 he became a member of UAP of Moldova, and in 1995 member of AIAP – UNESCO. Since 1990 until now he has been a professor of artistic education at specialised institutions of Chisinau, associate professor at Pedagogical State University Ion Creanga of Chisinau. He had numerous exhibitions in Moldova and abroad.

The exhibition will be open until 10 June.
