Moldovan energy regulator sets higher prices for petrol, diesel against previous period

Chisinau, 29 May /MOLDPRES/ - The petrol and diesel prices are increasing again, in the situation when the crude oil’s quotation at international exchanges has been maintained above the level of 70 dollars for one barrel. The National Energy Regulatory Agency (ANRE) today established the ceiling price for the most demanded Premium-95 petrol at 19.79 lei for one litre and for diesel at 17.75 lei for 30 May – 12 June.   

The reference price for petrol for the next two weeks is by 0.64 lei per one litre higher than the previous one and the diesel price grew by 0.66 lei. On 16-29 May, the prices for petrol and diesel increased by 0.33 lei and 0.30 lei, respectively.  

The new prices for petrol and diesel, set by ANRE today, will enter into force at midnight and will be in force starting from 30 May till 12 June. Operators will no longer have right to sell fuels by retail at higher prices than the ones established by ANRE.  

The quotation of the Brent oil barrel on international markets dropped to 75.31 dollars for one barrel today at noon, against 75.73 dollars at the opening of exchanges. The maximal level recorded was of 75.88 dollars for one barrel and the minimal one – 75.18 dollars.   

More experts estimate that the prices for oil on the international market will maintain at 65-75 dollars for one barrel this year. Since early 2018, the Brent oil quotations have increased by 20 per cent and reached the maximal level of 80 dollars for one barrel in May, for the first time since November 2014.
