Heavy rains affected hundreds of agricultural hectares, dozens of households

Chisinau, 19 June /MOLDPRES/- Heavy rains of the last days have affected 220 hectares of farmland and dozens of households.
Press officer of the General Inspectorate for Emergencies Liliana Puscasu said that Causeni district had suffered at most. In Ucrainca village 70 private gardens, three households and 13 cellars were flooded.
“The precipitation destroyed four bridges and affected 220 hectares of agricultural crops in Tocuz and Ucrainca localities, of which 80 ha maize, 70 ha sunflower, 30 ha peas, 20 ha wheat, 20 ha barley,” Puscasu said.
The territorial commissions for emergencies work to estimate material damage caused by heavy rains.
According to meteorologists, the sky will remain cloudy over the next few days throughout the country, and the air temperature will be up to +28 degrees Celsius.
