Moldovan deputy premier holds meeting on implementation of National Alcohol Control Program

Chisinau, 19 June /MOLDPRES/- Deputy Prime Minister Cristina Lesnic today convened the second meeting of the National Coordinating Council for the implementation of the National Alcohol Control Program 2012-2020 with the participation of representatives of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Ministry of Health, Labor and Social Protection, Ministry of Agriculture, Regional Development and Environment, as well as representatives of the associations, the Bureau for Reintegration has reported.

A string of reports on alcohol consumption and the causes of this were approached. However, representatives of the Ministry of Internal Affairs reported on campaigns to prevent alcohol consumption and made a number of suggestions in this regard.

In her speech, Cristina Lesnic emphasized the "prevention and education" method, which will enhance the fight against this negative phenomenon. At the same time, this phenomenon and its implications in the rural environment were approached, concluding that it is necessary to direct the efforts in this regard.

The council members also agreed that it is necessary to prepare at institutional level some reliable statistics to study the dynamics of alcohol consumption from the first source and in a multidimensional way.

The next meeting of the National Coordinating Council for the implementation of the National Alcohol Control Program 2012-2020 will take place at the end of this month.
