Aeroplane of Moldovan air company struck by lightning

Chisinau, 29 July /MOLDPRES/ – An Air Moldova aircraft operating on route Chisinau – St. Petersburg, was hit by lightning about 10 minutes after takeoff on 28 July. None of the passengers or crew members suffered.

Sources from nominated company have reported to agency that although no irregularity was reported to the flight system after the incident, it was decided to return the aircraft back to Chisinau International Airport (AIC).

The airplane landed safely, the passengers disembarked and received the required assistance on the ground, to reach the destination with other flights.

Starting landing, the aircraft has been subject to thorough technical checks.

Airplane Embraer E190 had 113 passengers on board.
