Chisinau, 30 July /MOLDPRES/ – The national authorities will be mobilised to carry out all necessary actions to complete successfully the audit mission that will allow Moldova to export meat and poultry eggs to EU. It is supposed to be invited to Moldova in September 2019, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.

The action plan in this regard was discussed today in a working meeting at Government. "We have the privileges of the Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Area with the European Union and we have to capitalise on them. This roadmap must contain actions to overcome all legislative, institutional difficulties, so that we know how to mobilise. There is a potential to increase exports to EU by at least 10 per cent in case of expansion of trade in products of animal origin", said Premier Pavel Filip.

The Roadmap also focuses on recommendations of EU Avian Consultative Assessment Mission, which visited Moldova in 2014. The main measures are to equip and accredit the laboratory, establish a national waste processing centre in meat industry, continue harmonisation of the national legislative framework with the European one and increase capacities of national institutions.

In the context, PM called for mobilisation of field competent authorities, setting clear deadlines for each action, so that the mission would be successful.

At present, among products of animal origin, Moldova exports to Community market bee honey – about 3700 tonnes in 2017 and caviar, in a much modest volume.
