Moldovan premier asks setting ambrosia in list of prohibited plants

Chisinau, 6 September /MOLDPRES/- Prime Minister Pavel Filip approached at the yesterday’s cabinet meeting the ambrosia allergy problem, which is reported by more citizens. He pointed out that ambrosia is no longer found in the list of prohibited plants in Moldova, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.

In this context, the premier asked the Ministry of Agriculture, Regional Development and Environment to come up with a draft Government decision to re-set ambrosia in the list of prohibited plants.

“This plant causes a fairly strong allergy. Once it is included in this list, fines will be imposed on those who will violate the law," he said.

At the same time, the premier asked the officials of the Ministry of Agriculture, Regional Development and Environment, as well as those of the National Office of Vine and Wine to inform the public as soon as possible about the agenda of activities on the National Wine Day.

“My request is to turn to good account this event, which has grown as a number of tourists who visit us each year. People get ready, buy tickets, and if we want more tourists at Wine Day – make public the agenda of this holiday as soon as possible and inform Travel Agencies," he said.

National Wine Day is held annually in Moldova on the first weekend of October since 2013.
