Chisinau, 18 October /MOLDPRES/ – The meeting of today of the Joint Control Commission (CUC) began with a minute of silence in the memory of the young persons which died as a result of the tragedy that took place on 17 October in an educational institution in Kerch city, the office for reintegration policy’s information and media communication service has reported.

Subsequently, Military Attaché and Air Force at the Embassy of Russia in Moldova, Colonel Andrei Pribitkov, as well as his senior assistant, Colonel Alexei Makarov, were approved as members of Russian delegation.

The Joint Military Command (CMI) presented weekly reports on the situation in the Security Zone (ZS) for 19 – 25 September and 10 – 16 October 2018.

During the talks, the Moldovan delegation reiterated, in a statement, its message about the need to increase the effectiveness of the mechanisms and procedures for controlling the situation in ZS by the Joint Pacification Forces (FMP).

In other range of ideas, the Delegation of Moldova has arguably overturned the attempt by the Transnistrian structures to mislead the public opinion by hushalising the military exercises carried out in ZS, including by forcing the Dniester river.

In this context, the Delegation of Moldova called on the components of Commission to oblige CMI and FMP to undertake all measures provided by the normative framework to prevent unauthorised entry into ZS one of military and paramilitary structures not allocated to FMP.

The commission meets again on 25 October 2018.
