Teachers to get annual compensation worth 2,000 MDL

Chisinau, 19 October /MOLDPRES/- Teachers working in primary schools, secondary schools and other educational institutions, as well as kindergarten educators will receive annual compensation of 2,000 lei starting from 2019, according to a government decision published today in Official Journal of Moldova.

Under the document, the money will be earmarked to increase the level of training and professional development of teachers.

The financial means will be used for the procurement of teaching aids, computer equipment, software products used in on-line training and professional development activities.

Compensation will be provided in a single installment, and if the teacher works more than one teacher's level - the amount of compensation will increase. At the same time, the beneficiaries will have to submit to the administration of the educational institutions the proof of use of funds properly.

In the academic year 2017-2018, the number of teachers working in the public education institutions reached about 50,000. About 98,000 lei will be provided to allocate compensation.

The decision enters into force on 1 January 2019.
