Citizens from 60 states to be able to easier get visas for Moldova

Chisinau, 23 October /MOLDPRES/ - The citizens from 60 states will be able to easier get visas for Moldova and the procedure of issuance of stay permits on labour and business purposes will be simplified. These subjects were discussed at a today’s meeting at the government, chaired by Prime Minister Pavel Filip. The PM said that, in this way, Moldova’s investment attractiveness, as well as the number of tourists would be significantly increased, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.     

To simplify the procedure of visas’ issuance, decision-makers proposed to amend the legislation in force. After the amendments have been made, only the application for the visa, accompanied by the applicant’s valid passport, will be enough for one visit, a tourist or business travel to Moldova. Taking into account the specific feature of the activity for getting the transport visa, the driver’s licence, the documents of the vehicle’s registration and the authenticated copy from the licence of the transport company will be additionally presented. At present, to a get a visa for Moldova, people present the return ticket, health insurance, reservation at the accommodation unit and the proof of the maintenance means.

At the same time, to attract investments and liberalize the labour market, the procedure of issuance of work and business permits will be simplified. The changes proposed will reduce the package of acts presented for documentation from 10 to 6 and the terms of examination of acts on temporary stay on labour purposes for migrant workers will be shortened from 25 to 15 days. The term of processing the stay permit will be shortened from 30 to 7 calendar days. The procedures of employment of foreign seasonal workers will be simplified and for the foreigners employed in investment projects, the validity term of the right to stay will be extended from one year to two or three ones, depending on the duration of the project. At the same time, the employer’s responsibility for the foreign person invited to work in Moldova will be enhanced.    

At present, the citizens of 100 states can travel to Moldova without visas; the visa regime is set for the citizens of 57 states and to open a visa, the citizens of 38 states need an invitation of a private person or legal entity from Moldova.
