Chisinau, 30 October /MOLDPRES/ - Artists Doina and Ion Aldea-Teodorovici today were commemorated at the Central Orthodox Cemetery on the Armeneasca Street from Chisinau, on the day when the 26th anniversary of their departure is marked.

Departed singers’ relatives, friends, admirers came to their graves today, which represents a proof of the fact that the singers have not been forgotten.

Contacted by MOLDPRES, the mother of Doina Aldea-Teodorovici, Eugenia Marin, thanked all people of good faith who were with the family of the departed singers on this day.

„Each man has a way. Doina and Ion found a way to people’s souls through songs. Wherever I go, people remember the two singers with heart and soul. I was happy to learn that an international symposium and festival, the third issue, in the memory of Doina and Ion was held in Cosereni, Ialomita country of Romania, in which 60 writers and singers from various countries participated. I urge all those who are attached to the memory of Doina and Ion to participate in the Gala of laureates of the international light music festival „Două inimi gemene. In memoriam Doina şi Ion Aldea-Teodorovici” (Two Twin Hearts. In the Memory of Doina and Ion Aldea-Teodorovici), the 16th issue, which will take place at the National Palace from Chisinau on 15 November,” Eugenia Marin also said.

For his part, the singers’ son, Cristofor Aldea-Teodorovici, said that Doina and Ion were a living presence among us. “I daily talks to them. We lack them very much; yet, it is important for our conscience and I want their memory to live in our souls forever. I am happy that I try to give life to the songs written by my father along with the orchestra I lead, and which he sang together with my mother,” the son of the departed singers added.

Attending the event, writer Claudia Partole expressed satisfaction that songs sung by Doina and Ion Aldea-Teodorovici had been heard in public transport from Chisinau today.

Doina and Ion Aldea-Teodorovici died in the wake of a traffic accident in the Cosereni settlement, Romania, 49 km far from Bucharest, on the night from 29 to 30 October 1992. The car in which they were moving crashed into a tree.
