Belarusian electric buses might be assembled in Moldovan capital by common joint venture

Chisinau, 31 October /MOLDPRES/ – The electric buses could be assembled in Chisinau. The intention was made during the visit of Prime Minister, Pavel Filip, to plant Belkommunmash in Minsk, which specialises in the production of public electric transport units, the government's communication and protocol department has reported.

In this respect, it was discussed the possibility of setting up a Moldovan – Belarusian joint – venture assembly of electric buses in Chisinau. "This is actually the public transport of the future, we want to assemble these buses in Chisinau. We will thus be able to export to other countries a product that is assembled in Moldova," said Pavel Filip.

The PM had the opportunity to test the electric bus, which is a transport not only ecological but also economical one. It feeds from the power source in 5 minutes, every 4 hours of travel. There are already 20 electric buses in Minsk, and by the end of 2018, it will be in circulation another 60 units.

Along with plant Belkommunmash, there have been assembled 15 new trolleybuses in Chisinau in 2018, and totally over 110 units. Belkommunmash transport units are used in over 70 cities in Belarus, Moldova, Ukraine, Russia, Serbia, Kazakhstan, Latvia and South America.
