Military Strategy for 2018-2022 to be published in Moldova's Official Journal

Chisinau, 1 November /MOLDPRES/ - The Military Strategy and the action plan on its implementation for 2018-2022 will be published in the Official Journal (Monitorul Oficial) of Moldova on 2 November.  

The document presents a clear-cut vision on the starting of the process of switch of the Armed Forces to a new structure and is aimed at developing these forces to cope with the challenges to the military security.   

The strategy was worked out by the Defence Ministry, with the participation of Interior Ministry’s (MAI) representatives. The elaboration of the strategy is also set forth in the government’s action programme, in the individual action plan of the partnership and within the defence capacity building initiative.      

The present document describes the security environment, military threats against Moldova; defines the tasks of the Armed Forces set by the national legislation; identifies the needed military capabilities; establishes the requirements and the necessary amount for financing the strategic military objects and the specific objects in order to fulfill missions.    

The decision enters into force on the date of its publication.
