Private people get over 110 million dollars from abroad via Moldovan banks in October

Chisinau, 27 November /MOLDPRES/- Money transfers from abroad through Moldovan banks to private people recorded a 13.7 percent increase in October compared to the previous month. The remittances decreased by 4.5 percent against the same period of 2017. Private people received in the past month money equivalent to 111.07 million dollars, according to an analysis released today by the National Bank of Moldova (BNM).

Most money came from the European Union countries, respectively 43.2% of the total, the share of transfers from the CIS countries fell to 26.7%, while remittances from the rest of the world accounted for 30.1%.

The Russian Federation ranked first accounting for 25.2 per cent of total remittances, down by 7.9 percentage points compared to October 2017. Large amounts were transferred from Israel (18.81 million dollars), Italy – 13.77 million dollars, Germany – 8.37 million dollars, the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland (6.85 million), France (4.49 million).

The money transfers from abroad to private people in Moldova reached 1067.04 million dollars in ten months, up by 7.9 percent than in the same period of the previous year.

The National Bank warns that private people who transfer and receive money through money remittance system may have the citizenship of any state. The origin and destination of the transferred money may be different. Data include settlements with banks from Moldova, without banks in the districts on the left bank of the Dniestre river.
