Moldovan deputy premier gives lecture to students in Cluj-Napoca

Chisinau, 4 December /MOLDPRES/- Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration Iurie Leanca paid a visit to Cluj on Monday, where, along with Professor Vasile Puşcaş, former chief negotiator for Romania's accession to the EU, gave a lecture to students from the European Studies Faculty of Babes-Bolyai University on European integration of our state and Romania’s role in this process, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.

Leanca also had a meeting with Bessarabian students of this faculty, and discussed developments in Moldova, Chisinau-Bucharest relation and what the government is doing to motivate them to return home.

“I confess I am impressed by the knowledge you have gained and pragmatic vision you see the future of Moldova. I strongly believe that these factors, combined with longing and love of home, will help buil the future,” Leanca said.

The issue on creation of Union for Romanian language was approached at a meeting with University rector, head of Romanian Academy Ioan-Aurel Pop. The academician appreciated the initiative of the Moldovan official, assuring him that there are several notorious personalities in Romania who would agree with this idea.

The idea of creating a commercial market for Moldovan products was discussed at a meeting with mayor Emil Boc. At the same time, Leanca thanked him for the projects made by the Cluj-Napoca City Hall in Ungheni, including the renovation of two kindergartens and the construction of a park in the city center.

Developments of the investment climate in Moldova were appreciated by President of Transilvania Bank Horia Ciorcila. He noted the Moldovan authorities’ efforts on stability and security in the banking sector. He pointed out that the developments led him to invest in Moldova.

Moreover, during a discussion with Romanian businessmen, it was agreed to hold a conference in Chisinau to present the investment opportunities in the Republic of Moldova.

Leanca participated in Cluj in a scientific conference dedicated to the relations between the Republic of Moldova and Romania, in a European context, organized by the Babeş-Bolyai University, one of the most prestigious educational institutions across the Prut. About 3,000 Moldovan students are studying here.
