Parliament approves Moldova-2030 National Development Strategy

Chisinau, 14 December /MOLDPRES/ The Moldova 2030 National Development Strategy was discussed in parliament and approved with the votes of 55 MPs today.  

The document, which is a comprehensive one, will be the instrument of implementing the 2030 Agenda in Moldova and will stay at the basis of the sectoral strategies. The Moldova 2030 Strategy is aimed at changing the optics of the public policies in Moldova, by focusing them on the problems, interests and aspirations of the people.   

The Strategy provides for aligning the living standards of the citizens to the one from the European Union and shows those ten dimensions used for measuring the phenomenon of life quality: increase in incomes from sustainable sources and attenuation of the economic inequality; enhancement of people’s access to the physical infrastructure, public utilities and living conditions; improvement of conditions of work and reduction of the informal work; guaranteeing quality education for everybody and promotion of opportunities of studying during all the life; ensuring the fundamental right to the best physical and mental health; a solid and inclusive social protection system; ensuring a balance between work and family; ensuring an efficient and inclusive governance and the supremacy of law; promotion of a peaceful, safe and inclusive society; ensuring the fundamental right to a healthy and safe environment.   

Also, the Moldova 2030 National Development Strategy includes four pillars of sustainable development: sustainable and inclusive economy, human and social capital, honest and efficient institutions, healthy environment. The document will be of reference in the process of working out of the Medium Term Budgetary Framework and will replace the present Moldova 2020 strategy.
