Chisinau, 5 January /MOLDPRES/ - There might be possibility to create a parliamentary majority due to manage to set up the government following the 24 February parliamentary elections.  Dean of the International Relations, Political and Administrative Sciences Faculty (FRISPA) of Moldova’s State University (USM) Alexandru Solcan has made statements to this effect in an interview given exclusively with MOLDPRES.

„I think that that things will not get to snap elections. I believe that, following the polls, a parliamentary majority will be created, the government will be set up and most likely, this cabinet will be around the current governance, around the Democratic Party of Moldova (PDM),” Solcan said.

According to Alexandru Solcan, the present political situation is complicated, as the parties which are the closest on the political stage and can be eventual partners of a coalition, are in the greatest confrontation. “I mean the ACUM bloc and PDM. We find out that the parties constituents of ACUM have probably an intransigent position on any communication with the governance and this is quite complicated,” Solcan noted. In these circumstances, one of the failures of the 2018 year, set forth by Solcan, is this collaboration between the opposition and the governance, “in the sense of a correct institutional cooperation.”

Alexandru Solcan also said that many MPs due to be elected in uninominal constituencies would try to join a governance, in order to bring as many as possible benefits to the citizens who voted for them.

Parliamentary elections based on the mixed voting system will be held in Moldova on 24 February 2019.
