Moldovan PM demands authorities' mobilization in removing snow

Chisinau, 12 January /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister Pavel Filip today summoned an operative meeting on the bad weather from the last two days. The participants in the event analyzed the present state of roads from Moldova and needed intervention measures, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.   

According to the latest information, all roads from Moldova are practicable and there are no settlements disconnected from power supply. At the same time, at a request by the prime minister, the crisis cell will work non-stop till next Monday, in order to prevent any risk.  

During the last two days, the General Police Inspectorate has recorded 126 traffic  accidents, of which 88 in the Moldovan capital. The PM asked the police, carabineers and roadmen to intervene to clean roads, yards of blocks of flats and social institutions from Chisinau. At the same time, the prime minister demanded that the local public authorities and buildings’ managers ensure the removal of snow from roofs.

Pavel Filip stressed that, in the present conditions, it is essential that specialized services and local authorities permanently interact, and in the long run, decision-makers should provide intervention with more advanced technology, so that citizens feel safely and their lives are out of any danger. “We must think about the long run and intervene including in the road fund, in order to purchase modern technology and equipments,” Pavel Filip said.

At the meeting, the prime minister thanked all those involved in the works of snow removal, patrol and combating the glazed frost: rescuers, military, policemen, physicians, roadmen, workers, volunteers and citizens.
