Road traffic regulations to complete with two new signs in Moldova

13:57 | 17.01.2019 Category: Social

Chisinau, 17 January /MOLDPRES/ – The road traffic regulation will be completed with two new indicators, according to a government decision, which will be published on 18 January in the Official Journal of Moldova.

According to the document, the two signs indicate the boundaries of the "border area" and "the end of the border area".

The Border Area indicator sets the beginning of the 10 – kilometre – wide area from the state border to the interior, along the perimeter on land and on the border. Also, the road sign End of the border area indicates the limits of this perimeter.

The indicators show special conditions of access, stay and hunting. Thus, hunting is carried out only by hunters possessing a card and forming part of a hunting society. In order to authorise hunting in the border area, the department of Border Police (PF) issues an opinion to that person. This will be valid when presenting the identity document of the person. If the hunt is carried out by a group of persons, the team leader is required to check whether all the participants have the mentioned opinions.

The ruling also includes rules on the state border protection strip, which is the 15 metre piece of land starting from the state border to the interior. The strip is an area with increased security status, intended for the good state border maintenance, protection of border signs and control of access near the state border. Thus, in this perimeter it is forbidden: possession of weapons and ammunition; possession of cigarettes in quantities of more than 100 pieces; having alcoholic beverages in excess of 3 litres; waste throwing and disposal, improvised landfills; abandonment of transport means and agricultural aggregates, etc.

The implementation of the present decision does not involve additional expenses from the state budget (BS).
